Unfortunately, our previously-approved race permit was revoked at the last minute due to staffing shortages with local police departments. I'm so sorry for those of you that had signed up. I'd appreciate it if you would help me spread the word. It has been tentatively rescheduled for November 14th at 7:00 AM. It's not a night race as we had originally envisioned, but it's the earliest date we could reserve with FPD/UNA PD. We will still have a spooky good time and there will still be awards for best costumes. Again, I'm so sorry for the inconvenience and I hope everyone that signed up will still be able to attend. If you are unable to attend, please message us.

About:
The Scary Scamper is a Halloween-themed 5K race and 1-mile fun run in beautiful (and spooky) downtown Florence. With plenty of treats, and maybe even some tricks along the way, the race will include medals and prizes for the top three male and female finishers, as well as prizes for best costumes! The Florence Ghostbusters will be on hand with their Ecto-1 to keep the spirits at bay!
Pre-registration includes a t-shirt. T-shirts will be available for raceday registration as well, but in limited quantities. All proceeds benefit the Sheffield Cross-Country program and go directly to uniforms, race fees, and travel expenses.
Location:
Both races will start and finish at the intersection of N. Walnut St. and E. Mobile St.
Schedule:
6:00 PM start time for 5K race
7:00 PM 1-mile fun run
8:00 awards and costume contest
Registration:
5K fee is $35
Fun-run fee is $25
Includes t-shirt and race bib
Awards will be given to the top-3 male and female finishers, as well as participants with the 3 best costumes. Costume contest will be judged by The Florence Ghostbusters.
